Andrea's memoir, It's Been a Journey, begins with a seven-year-old vegetarian with a nervous tic who becomes a competitive figure skater who dreams of being a forest ranger when she grows up. However, after twenty-six moves, surviving two wildfires, a collapsing economy in Argentina as well as disdain from the French about her French, she and her husband buy a derelict oyster farm on a remote island that becomes so successful it nearly sends her over the edge.
